Bumble bees have enjoyed exploring music, they had lots of fun moving to music and using musical instruments to make their own sounds.
Chloe’s group have been focusing on letter matching, the children really enjoyed recognising letter of the alphabet and pairing them together in a matching card game
Busy bees have been improving their maths skills, exploring shape using different tools and resources to support their number development
The children enjoyed making lovely pictures for their parents for valentines day. We enjoyed getting messy using the arts and crafts materials to create lovely pictures. We talked about what was on our picture and who we were making it for.
Pre-school enjoyed a special visit from one of the pre-school parents who works as a doctor. She came with lots of different equipment for them to test out and explained what it was used for. We talked about how doctors help us when we are poorly and our experiences of visiting the doctor.
As part of our Eco-schools award, Honey Pot Aigburth have adopted a rhino.
Our rhino’s name is Lankeu!
Today we introduced our rhino mascot to the children in pre-school.
We talked about how Lankeu is a black rhino and lives in Nairobi national park. We also talked about how Lankeu’s type of rhino are becoming extinct so that is why we chose to adopt him in order to help look after him.
We also learnt about his habitat and what he likes to eat.
The children will all be getting a turn to take our Lankeu rhino mascot home to look after.
Our children have had a busy week enjoying a variety of Valentine’s themed crafts & we ended the week with a stay & play.
We welcomed our Mums, Dads & Grandparents to the setting to join in with Valentine’s themed arts & crafts & messy play.
The nursery was a sea of red and pink as the children explored activities including a special love potion, pink slime, hearts & flowers & they also made their own special Valentine’s cards and pictures.

Today we celebrated Valentines Day with our Parents stay & Play. The Children & Parents enjoyed some creative play with arts and crafts & We explored our play dough making funny faces. We also enjoyed Cake decorating. Thank you to all the parents and Grandparents that came and shared an amazing experience with your little ones!
The children loved wearing their pyjamas in nursery today. Thank you for all of your kind donations, we raised £121.62. All donations will be paid to Cracker Jacks children’s charity.
Our busy bees took part in a cookery class today, they made pita pizzas. The children dressed up in our chef outfits and made delicious pizzas.
Our Garston nursery has been awarded their Eco-Schools bronze award. We are now working on being awarded their silver award!
