Bug Hunt

In pre-school, Nicole’s group created a ‘bug cave’ under their tuff tray.
The children enjoyed using the magnifying glass to search for the bugs.
Once they found a bug they would put it into the moss in the tuff tray.
They then took turns using the giant bug viewer to explore the bugs more closely.
The children spoke about the similarities and differences between the bugs.
They also enjoyed hiding in the cave afterwards!!

Kelly’s group enjoyed exploring different types of healthy food.
The children all helped to prepare the food by washing it first and then being very careful to cut it into pieces.
Each of the children tried a variety of fruits and vegetables and commented on their texture and how they tasted.
They all discussed how each of the foods were healthy foods and how they are good for our bodies.

Zahra’s group explored an ocean themed water play.

They talked about which types of marine/sea life live in the sea or ocean.

With Zahra’s help, the children added dirt and rubbish to the water including oil, mud & plastic to make it ‘polluted’.

Together they discussed how this pollution is very dangerous for the animals that live in the ocean.

One of the children commented, “Oh no, why do people do that, we need to say sorry!”

Together the children rescued the animals, cleaned them & returned them to non-polluted waters.
