A Very Eventful Month

Written by Wavertree Nursery. Posted in General

The children have had a very eventful month this month. They preschool children have take part in a five week forest school program, ending with a lovely parents stay and play session. Flower Pot Sue has also been and is teaching the children weekly about planting and growing. They started the season off with lettuce, spring onions and beetroot. The chick hatching experience has also been a bit hit this month. The children where very luck to watch them hatch and care for the daily over the last 2 weeks. We will be very sad to see them go, but on a plus side we will get regular updates as 3 are going to a staff member and 2 to a parent, keep checking our blog for regular updates.

This week was Parent’s Week at Forest School! We went on an Easter Egg hunt and found lots of yummy chocolate eggs, made some special medallions and toasted marshmallows on the fire! We also had tasty Bolognese for lunch and played some fun games together with our friends. What a great time we had! Thanks to everyone who came to join in on the fun.

Muddy Puddle Day!

Yesterday was Muddy Puddle Day at Honey Pot Childwall. All children from all different age groups enjoyed putting their wellies and wetsuits on and making and jumping in muddy puddles. We used our hosepipe to create the puddles as it hadn’t rained much. Some children chose to make their puddles muddy, whilst others opted for paint and food colouring. Children squealed with delight as they jumped and splashed in the puddles. We had so much fun!

World Down’s Syndrome Day

Written by Garston. Posted in General

Our children raised awareness for World Down’s Syndrome Day. Children and staff came into nursery wearing odd socks. We welcomed Bobby’s sister Bella and his mum in to nursery for a stay and play session. Bobby is based in our Honey Bees room. Bella has been diagnosed with down’s syndrome and we wanted Bobby to introduce her to all his friends at nursery. Bella enjoyed taking part in messy play activities and role play activities with Bobby and his friends.

“Eggsiting” Surprise

Written by Garston. Posted in General

We had an “eggsiting” surprise at nursery this today. Our chicks have hatched. When we arrived at nursery this morning one chick had hatched and throughout the day children have experienced more eggs cracking and 2 more chicks being born. We are all looking forward to the rest of our chick hatching as they are breaking through the shell at present.

The Chicks Have Arrived!

Written by Childwall. Posted in General

We have some very exciting news…when we came into nursery this morning 2 of our chicks had hatched out of their eggs! They are very small and fluffy and still need to be kept in their incubator. We loved looking at them and have been keeping a careful eye on the other eggs. Whilst we have been watching them 3 more chicks have hatched so we now have 5! We have been thinking of names for them and have decided to call them Violet, Sweetie, Theo, Lucy and Bob! There are still 3 more eggs to hatch…we can’t wait to see them!
